Course content for advanced snowboarders to snowboard more dynamically
The next goal is to improve the dynamics of your snowboard turns. We can do this by making unweighted turns. In other words, we change the edge either in a high or low position. But first we're going to get a better feel for your range of motion.
🤓 Prerequisites
The basis for improving is to get the standard skidded turn under good control. If your turns are not very smooth or very jerky, try to make them smooth first.
Chapter 1
Recap the perfect standard skidded turn
Before we start improving, we need to find out whether our standard skidded turn is already good enough. Let's check what we can improve.
Chapter 2
More dynamics through use of the knees
Ultimately, there is only one golden rule for improving your riding style. Use your knees. However, this does not mean riding rigidly in a low position, but using your position for more dynamic riding.
6.1.1 Bend your knees
To snowboard more dynamically, we need to change our center of gravity by bending our knees.
6.1.2 Use your knees to steer
Find out here how you can use your knees to control your snowboard.
6.1.3 Release pressure with flexing and stretching
we take the pressure off the snowboard slightly. This is possible via a flexing or stretching movement.
Chapter 3
Baisc unweighted turns
Turns are most enjoyable when we can release the pressure when changing edges. We can do this either by changing the edge in a low or high position.
